Your file never leaves this device. Your browser computes its fingerprint (SHA-256) and only the fingerprint is sent to us.

When we issue a certificate we record what it says and a SHA-256 cryptographic fingerprint of its file. The code shows you that record. The file check recomputes the fingerprint in your browser: any change to the file, however small, produces a different one.
